Hadith 4:9
A man came to Talhah ibn Ubayd Allah and said, "O Abu Muhammad, have you seen this Yemeni—or al-Khidr said: 'the Yemeni'—is he more knowledgeable of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) than you?"—meaning Abu Hurayrah—"We hear things from him that we do not hear from you." Talhah said, "As for him having heard from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) what we did not hear, I have no doubt about that. I will inform you about that: we were people of households, and we would only come to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) in the morning and the evening. He was a poor man who had no wealth; he was only at the door of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). So, I have no doubt that he heard what we did not hear. And do you find anyone in whom there is goodness saying about the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) what he did not say?"
