Abu Hamza Huraym ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: I heard my father mentioning from Thabit, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: When "O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet" was revealed, up to His saying "while you do not perceive," Thabit ibn Qays said: "I, by Allah, am the one who used to raise my voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and I fear that I am among the people of the Fire, for I used to raise my voice in the presence of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)."
