Sa'id ibn Abi al-Rabi' al-Samman narrated to us, Rashid Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stood at a gathering of the Banu Salama and said: "O Banu Salama, who is the *raqūb* (childless one) among you?" They said: "The one who has no children." He said: "Rather, he is the one who has no *faraṭ* (preceding children who died in infancy)." He said: "Who is the *mu'dim* (destitute one) among you?" They said: "The one who has no wealth." He said: "Rather, he is the one who arrives [on the Day of Resurrection] and has no good [deeds] with Allah."
