Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 117:166

Thabit al-Bunani from Anas (RA)

Hadith 117:166

Abu Bakr ibn Zanjawayh narrated to us, Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Sulayman informed us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, entered Makkah during the Umrat al-Qada, and Ibn Rawahah was in front of him, saying: "Clear the way, O sons of the disbelievers, from his path. Today we will strike you over its interpretation, a striking that removes the skulls from their resting places and makes the friend forget his friend." Umar said to him: "O Ibn Rawahah, in the sanctuary of Allah and in front of the Messenger of Allah, you recite this poetry?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Leave him, O Umar. For by the One in whose hand is my soul, his words are more severe upon them than the striking of arrows."
