Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 117:27

Hadbah ibn Khalid and 'Abd al-Wahid ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, they said: Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said on the day of Uhud, while he was wiping the blood from his face: "How can a people prosper who wounded their Prophet and broke his incisor tooth while he was calling them to Allah?" So Allah revealed: "Not for you is the decision whether He turns in mercy to them or punishes them; indeed, they are wrongdoers."
