Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 117:29

Al-Hasan ibn ‘Umar ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit, who said: I think he said from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) entered upon a man to visit him, and he found him in the throes of death. He greeted him and said, "How do you find yourself?" He said, "I am well, O Messenger of Allah. I hope in Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He), and I fear my sins." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "They do not gather in the heart of a man at this station, except that Allah gives him what he hopes for and secures him from what he fears."
