Hadith 117:52

Hadaba narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) left the slain of Badr for three days, then he came to them and stood over them and called out to them. He said: "O Abu Jahl ibn Hisham, O Umayyah ibn Khalaf, O Utbah ibn Rabi'ah, O Shaybah ibn Rabi'ah, have you found what your Lord promised you to be true? For I have found what my Lord promised me to be true." Umar heard the saying of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, how do they hear and how can they answer when they have become corpses?" He said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, you are not more hearing to what I say than they are, except that they are not able to answer." Then he ordered them, and they were dragged to the well of Badr.
