Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 117:57

Hadaba narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughira narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: When this verse was revealed: "O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not be loud to him in speech," Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas sat in his house and said: "I am the one who used to raise my voice and be loud to him in speech, and I am among the people of the Fire." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, inquired about him, so they informed him. He said: "Rather, he is among the people of the Paradise." Anas said: We used to see him walking among us, and we knew that he was among the people of the Paradise. When the day of al-Yamama came, and that retreat occurred, he put on his clothes, applied embalming perfume, stepped forward, and fought until he was killed.
