Thabit al-Bunani from Anas (RA)

Hadith 117:65
Al-Abbas narrated to us, Imran bin Khalid al-Khuza'i narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was in the house of Aisha, and some of his companions were waiting for food. He said: Then she preceded her. Imran said: My strongest assumption is that it was Hafsa, with a bowl containing tharid (bread soaked in broth). She said: So she placed it down. She said: Then Aisha came out and took the bowl. He said: That was before they were veiled. He said: So she struck it, and it broke. The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, took it and gathered it, and he said with his palm—Imran gestured—and he gathered it and said: "Eat, your mother has become jealous." He said: When they finished, he sent the bowl to Hafsa and sent the broken one to Aisha. So it became a precedent: whoever breaks something, it belongs to him, and he owes the like of it.
