Hadaba ibn Khalid narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: I was serving Abu Ubaydah, Abu Talhah, Ubayy ibn Ka'b, Simak ibn Kharashah, and Suhayl ibn Bayda' a mixture of dates and unripe dates, until it affected them quickly. Then a man passed by calling out, "Behold, indeed alcohol has been prohibited." He said: So they said, "O Anas, overturn your vessel." By Allah, they did not wait to find out whether he was truthful or a liar. By Allah, it did not return to their heads until they met Allah.
