Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 2:3

Ali ibn Hamzah al-Basri narrated to us, Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: Umar ibn al-Khattab delivered a sermon to us at al-Jabiyah and said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stood in my position among you today and said: "Beware, treat my companions well, then those who follow them." He then mentioned the like of the hadith of Shayban. Ali ibn Hamzah was not criticized by anyone, and Ibn Hibban declared him trustworthy.
