Ahmad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, ‘Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, that al-Sa’ib ibn Yazid and ‘Ubaydullah ibn ‘Abdullah informed him, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Abd al-Qari, who said: I heard ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab saying: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Whoever sleeps through his portion [of the Quran] or a part of it, and then recites it between the dawn prayer and the noon prayer, it is recorded for him as if he had recited it during the night."
