Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Isma'il bin Ibrahim narrated to us—I think from Hisham al-Dastawa'i—from Yahya bin Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Zaynab bint Umm Salamah, from Umm Salamah, who said: While I was lying down with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I began to menstruate. I slipped away and took my menstruation garments. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, "Have you become menstruating?" I said, "Yes." He called me, and I lay down with him in the velvet sheet. She said: She and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform ghusl from the same vessel, and he used to kiss her while he was fasting.
