Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 209:128

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Rawh ibn ‘Ubadah narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, he said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit informed me that ‘Abd al-Hamid ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi ‘Amr and al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham informed him that they both heard Abu Bakr ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham informing that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), informed him that when she arrived in Medina, she informed them that she was the daughter of Abu Umayyah ibn al-Mughirah. They denied her and said, "How lying are the strangers!" until some people among them prepared for Hajj and said, "Will you write to your family?" So she wrote with them, and they returned to Medina confirming her, and her honor increased in their eyes. She said: "When I gave birth to Zaynab, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to me proposing to me. I said, 'Should someone like me be married? As for me, I have children, and I am a jealous woman with a family.' He said, 'As for me, I am older than you. As for the jealousy, Allah will remove it. And as for the family, they are for Allah and His Messenger.' So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) married her." She said: "He began to come to her and say, 'Where is Zanab?' until ‘Ammar came and snatched her away, saying, 'This one prevents the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)!' She was breastfeeding her. He came to her and said, 'Where is Zanab?' She said, 'Qaribah bint Abi Umayyah,' and he found her with her. Ibn Yasir took her. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, 'I will come to you tonight.' She said: 'So I put away my clothes and took out some grains of barley that were in my jar, and I took out some fat, and I cooked a porridge for him.'" She said: "He spent the night, and when he woke up in the morning, he said: 'You have honor among your family. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days, and if I stay with you for seven days, I will stay with my wives for seven days.'"
