Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 209:152
Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 209:152
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Abu Ishaq al-Fazari narrated to us, from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Abu Qilabah, from Qabisah ibn Dhu'ayb, from Umm Salamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) entered upon Abu Salamah while his eyes had fixed [in death], so he closed them. Then he said: "Indeed, when the soul is seized, the sight follows it." Some of his family members wailed, so he said: "Do not supplicate against yourselves except for good, for the angels say 'Amin' to what you say." Then he said: "O Allah, forgive Abu Salamah, raise his rank among the guided, be his successor for those he left behind among the remaining ones, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, make his grave spacious for him and illuminate his grave for him."
