Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 209:21

Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 209:21

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, from Hafs ibn Ghiyath, from Hisham, from his father, from Zaynab bint Umm Salamah, from Umm Salamah, who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded charity. So the wife of Abdullah said: "O Messenger of Allah, does it suffice for the charity if I give charity to my husband, while he is poor, and to the sons of a brother of mine who are orphans?" And she was a spender, like this and like that, and in every situation. He said: "Yes." And she was a skilled worker with her hands.
