Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 209:66
Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 209:66
Sufyan ibn Waki’ narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Dawud ibn Abi ‘Abd Allah, from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Jud’an al-Qurashi, from his grandmother, from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was in my house, and in his hand was a siwak. He called a servant girl of his, and he called her until anger appeared on his face. Umm Salamah went out to the chambers and found the servant girl playing with a young animal. She said, "Do I not see you playing with this animal while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is calling you?" She said, "No, by the One who sent you with the truth, I did not hear you." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Were it not for the fear of retaliation, I would have caused you pain with this siwak."
