Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 209:87

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, from Umm Salamah, who said: I said to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "Hisham ibn al-Mughirah used to uphold family ties, host the guest, free the captives, and feed the hungry. If he had lived to see [Islam], would that be of benefit to him?" He said: "No, for he used to give for the sake of the worldly life, and he mentioned it, and praised it, and he never once said: 'My Lord, forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense.'"
