Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 140:3

Khalaf ibn Hisham narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Maymun, who said: Al-Raqashi narrated to us, saying: Anas used to say to us when he narrated this hadith: "By Allah, it is not as you and your companions do—meaning one of you sits down and you gather around him, and he delivers a sermon. Rather, when they had prayed the morning prayer, they would sit in circles, reciting the Quran and learning the obligatory duties and the Sunnah."
