Musnad Ahmad 27:1030

'Affan narrated to us, Wahib narrated to us, Musa ibn 'Uqbah narrated to me, Salim narrated to me, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, from Zayd ibn Harithah al-Kalbi, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar used to say: "We did not call him anything but Zayd ibn Muhammad, until the Quran was revealed: 'Call them by their fathers; that is more just in the sight of Allah' [Al-Ahzab: 5]."
