Musnad 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA)

Hadith 27:1095

Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Atash narrated to us, Nu’man ibn al-Zubayr informed me, from Ayyub ibn Salman, a man from the people of Sana’a, who said: We were in Mecca and sat with ‘Ata’ al-Khurasani beside the wall of the mosque, but we did not ask him anything, and he did not speak to us. He said: Then we sat with Ibn ‘Umar in a gathering like this one of yours, but we did not ask him anything, and he did not speak to us. He said: So he said, "What is the matter with you that you do not speak and do not remember Allah? Say: 'Allah is the Greatest' (Allahu Akbar), 'Praise be to Allah' (Alhamdulillah), and 'Glory be to Allah and by His praise' (Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi). For one, ten; and for ten, a hundred. Whoever increases, Allah increases for him, and whoever remains silent, he is forgiven." "Shall I not inform you of five things I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" They said, "Yes." He said: "Whoever’s intercession prevents a prescribed punishment from the punishments of Allah, he has opposed Allah in His command. Whoever assists in a dispute without right, he remains under the shade of Allah’s wrath until he desists. Whoever slanders a believing man or a believing woman, Allah will confine him in the 'radghat al-khabal' (the mud of confusion), which is the discharge of the people of Hell. Whoever dies while owing a debt, it will be taken for its owner from his good deeds; there will be no dinar then, nor a dirham. And the two rak'ahs of Fajr, guard them, for they are among the virtues."
