'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from 'Uthman ibn Yazdawayh, from Ya'far ibn Rawdhi, who said: I heard 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr, while he was narrating, saying: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, says: "The likeness of the hypocrite is like the likeness of the ewe crouching between two flocks." Ibn 'Umar then said: Woe to you, do not lie about the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, only said: "The likeness of the hypocrite is like the likeness of the ewe wandering between two flocks."
