Hadith 27:1203
Abu Nuh narrated to us, Layth informed us, from Yazid ibn Abdullah ibn Usamah ibn al-Had, from Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn Umar, that a Bedouin passed by him while they were on the road to Hajj. Ibn Umar said to him, "Are you not so-and-so, son of so-and-so?" He said, "Yes." He said, "So he went to a donkey that he used to rest upon when he grew tired of his riding beast, and a turban that he used to bind his head with, and he gave them to the Bedouin." When he had departed, some of us said to him, "You went to your donkey that you used to rest upon, and your turban that you used to bind your head with, and you gave them to this Bedouin, even though he would have been satisfied with a dirham?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'Indeed, the best of righteousness is the maintaining of ties by a man with the people his father loved, after he has passed away.'"
