Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Ishaq bin Sa'id narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn Umar, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "Begging is a laceration on the face of its owner on the Day of Resurrection, so whoever wishes, let him keep the lacerations on his face. The lightest of begging is the begging of a relative whom you ask for a need. The best of begging is begging while having sufficiency, and begin with those whom you support."
