Abu al-Walid narrated to us, Ubayd Allah ibn Iyad ibn Laqit narrated to us, Iyad narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Nu'm or Nu'aym al-A'raji—Abu al-Walid was uncertain—who said: A man asked Ibn Umar about *mut'ah* (temporary marriage), and I was with him—meaning the *mut'ah* of women. He said: "By Allah, we were not, during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, fornicators nor adulterers." Then he said: "By Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'There will certainly be, before the Day of Resurrection, the False Messiah (al-Masih al-Dajjal) and thirty liars or more.'"
