Musnad Ahmad 27:1278

Yunus narrated to us, Hammad—meaning Ibn Zayd—narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Nafi’, from Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said while he was delivering a sermon: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the giver, and the lower hand is the hand of the beggar."
