Musnad Ahmad 27:1301

Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Yazid—meaning Ibn ‘Ata’—narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, [who said]: Al-Hasan ibn Suhayl, or Suhayl ibn ‘Amr ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Awf, narrated to me, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade the *maytharah*, the *qassiyyah*, the gold ring, and the *mufaddam*." Yazid said: "The *maytharah* is the skins of predatory animals. The *qassiyyah* is garments with stripes of silk brought from Egypt. The *mufaddam* is that which is saturated with safflower."
