Musnad Ahmad 27:1480

Surayj narrated to us, Mulazim ibn ‘Amr narrated to us, ‘Abdullah ibn Badr narrated to me, that he went out with a group of his companions as pilgrims until they arrived in Makkah. They entered the Mosque, touched the Black Stone, then we circumambulated the House seven times, then we prayed two rak'ahs behind the Maqam (Station of Ibrahim). Suddenly, there was a large man wearing an izar (lower garment) and a rida (upper garment) calling out to us near the basin. We stood up and went to him, and I asked about him. They said: "Ibn ‘Abbas." When we came to him, he said: "Who are you?" We said: "People of the East, and there are people of Al-Yamamah." He said: "Are you pilgrims or ‘Umrah performers?" I said: "Rather, pilgrims." He said: "Then you have invalidated your Hajj." I said: "I have performed Hajj many times and I used to do such and such." He said: "Go immediately until you reach Ibn ‘Umar." So I said: "O Ibn ‘Umar, we have arrived," and we told him our story and informed him of what he (Ibn ‘Abbas) said: "You have invalidated your Hajj." He (Ibn ‘Umar) said: "I adjure you by Allah, did you set out as pilgrims?" We said: "Yes." He said: "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr, and ‘Umar, all of them did exactly as you have done."
