Musnad Ahmad 27:1485

Surayj narrated to us, Abdullah narrated to us, from Nafi’, from Ibn Umar, that he used to stone the Jamrah on the Day of Sacrifice while riding, and all the rest [of the days] while walking. And he would inform them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do that.
