Musnad Ahmad 27:1525

'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Sakhr—meaning Ibn Juwayriyah—narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stopped with the people in the year of Tabuk. He stopped with them at al-Hijr, near the dwellings of Thamud. The people drew water from the wells that Thamud used to drink from, and they kneaded dough with it and set up pots with meat. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded them, so they poured out the contents of the pots and fed the dough to the camels. Then he departed with them until he stopped with them at the well from which the she-camel used to drink. He forbade them from entering upon the people who were punished, and he said: "I fear that what befell them might befall you, so do not enter upon them."
