Musnad Ahmad 27:1531

'Abdullah ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Hanzalah narrated to me, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, that he used to dislike branding on the face. And he said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade striking the face."
