Musnad Ahmad 27:1566

Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, Salim ibn 'Abd Allah informed me, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The Imam is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The man is a shepherd in his family and is responsible for his flock. The woman is a shepherd in her husband's house and is responsible for her flock. The servant is a shepherd in his master's wealth and is responsible for his flock." He said: "I heard these from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and I think the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'And the man is a shepherd in his father's wealth and is responsible for his flock. So each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.'"
