Musnad Ahmad 27:1569

Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, Salim ibn 'Abdullah narrated to me, that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was standing on the pulpit, saying: "Behold, your remaining time compared to the nations that passed before you is like the time between the 'Asr prayer and the setting of the sun. The people of the Torah were given the Torah, and they acted upon it until the middle of the day, then they became unable, so they were given a qirat each. Then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel, and they acted upon it until the 'Asr prayer, then they became unable, so they were given a qirat each. Then you were given the Qur'an, and you acted upon it until the sun set, so you were given two qirats each. The people of the Torah and the Gospel said: 'Our Lord, these people did less work but received more reward.' He said: 'Did I wrong you in any of your reward?' They said: 'No.' He said: 'It is My bounty, which I bestow upon whom I will.'"
