Musnad Ahmad 27:1665

'Abd al-Wahhab ibn 'Ata narrated to us, Malik ibn Anas narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade *al-wisal* (fasting continuously for days without breaking the fast). It was said to him, "You practice *al-wisal*, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "I am not like you; I am fed and given to drink."
