Musnad 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA)

Hadith 27:1692

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Abd al-Malik informed us, from Muslim ibn Yanaq, who said: I was with Abdullah ibn Umar in the gathering of the sons of Abdullah in Makkah, when a youth passed by us trailing his lower garment. He said: "Come here, O youth." So he came to him, and he asked: "Who are you?" He said: "I am one of the sons of Bakr ibn Sa'd." He said: "Do you wish for Allah to look at you on the Day of Resurrection?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then raise your lower garment, for I heard Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say with these two ears of mine"—and he gestured with his two fingers toward his ears—saying: "Whoever drags his lower garment, intending by it nothing but pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection."
