Musnad Ahmad 27:1706

'Ali ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Mutarrif narrated to us, Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us, that he said: 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar came to Ibn Muti' and he (Ibn Muti') said: "Place a cushion for Abu 'Abd al-Rahman." He (Ibn 'Umar) said: "I did not come to sit with you, but I came to inform you of what I heard from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. I heard him say: 'Whoever withdraws a hand from obedience, or separates from the community, dies a death of the Age of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah).'"
