Musnad Ahmad 27:1762

Nuh ibn Maymun narrated to us, Abdullah—meaning Ibn Umar al-Umari—informed us, from Nafi, who said: Ibn Umar used to stone the Jamrat al-Aqabah while mounted on his riding beast on the Day of Sacrifice. He would not approach the others after that except on foot, going and returning. And he claimed that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would not approach them except on foot, going and returning.
