Hadith 27:1865
Narrated to us Muhammad ibn Salamah, from Abu Abd al-Rahim, from al-Jahm ibn al-Jarud, from Salim, from his father, who said: Umar ibn al-Khattab gifted a Bactrian camel, for which he had been offered three hundred dinars. He came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have gifted a Bactrian camel of mine, for which I was offered three hundred dinars. Should I slaughter it, or should I buy with its price sacrificial camels (budn)?" He said: "No, but slaughter it [as it is]."
