Musnad Ahmad 27:1915

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, Nafi' informed me, he said: Ibn 'Umar combined two prayers one time. News came to him regarding Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubayd that she was ill, so he departed after he prayed the 'Asr, and he left the heavy baggage, then he quickened the pace. He traveled until the time for the Maghrib prayer arrived. A man from his companions spoke to him and said: "The prayer." He did not return anything to him. Then another spoke to him, and he did not return anything to him. Then another spoke to him, so he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when the journey hurried him, he would delay this prayer until he combined between the two prayers."
