Musnad Ahmad 27:1963

'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Hisham—meaning Ibn Sa'd—narrated to us, from Zayd—meaning Ibn Aslam—from his father, who said: I entered with Ibn 'Umar upon 'Abd Allah ibn Muti'. He said: "Welcome, Abu 'Abd al-Rahman. Place a cushion for him." Ibn 'Umar said: "I only came to tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'Whoever withdraws a hand from obedience, he will come on the Day of Resurrection with no argument for himself. And whoever dies while separating from the community, he dies a death of ignorance.'"
