Musnad Ahmad 27:292

Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Nafi’, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saw a slain woman in some of his military expeditions, so he forbade the killing of women and children.
