Musnad Ahmad 27:365

Yazid narrated to us, Hammam ibn Yahya informed us, from Qatadah, from Abu al-Hakam al-Bajali, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, other than a dog for crops, livestock, or hunting, a qirat will be deducted from his deeds every day." I said to Ibn Umar: "What if it is in a house and I dislike it?" He said: "It is upon the master of the house who owns it."
