Musnad Ahmad 27:557

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Hajjaj narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn al-Mughirah al-Ta'ifi, from 'Abdullah ibn Miqdam ibn Warda, who said: I saw Ibn 'Umar performing the circumambulation (tawaf) between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and he did not perform the *ramal* (brisk walking). I said: "Why do you do this?" He said: "Yes, both. I have seen the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, do both; he performed the *ramal* and he refrained from it."
