Muhammad ibn Ja’far and Hajjaj narrated to us, they said: Shu’bah narrated to us, I heard Sulayman al-A’mash—and Hajjaj said: From al-A’mash, he narrates from Yahya ibn Waththab, from an elder among the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: And I think it is Ibn Umar. Hajjaj said: Shu’bah said: Sulayman said: And he is Ibn Umar, narrating from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: "The believer who mixes with the people and is patient with their harm is greater in reward than the one who does not mix with them and is not patient with their harm." Hajjaj said: "Better than the one who does not mix with them."
