'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, I heard 'Abd al-Rahman—meaning Ibn Mahdi—he is Ibn 'Alqamah—saying: I heard Ibn 'Umar saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Let the beards grow long, and trim the mustaches."
