Musnad 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA)

Hadith 27:691

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Asim ibn 'Ubayd Allah, who said: I heard Salim ibn 'Abd Allah narrating from Ibn 'Umar, who said: 'Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, have you considered what we do—is it in a matter that has already been finished, or is it something new, or something initiated?" He said: "It is in what has already been finished. So act, O son of al-Khattab, for everyone is facilitated [toward what they were created for]. As for the one who is among the people of happiness, he acts for happiness; and as for the one who is among the people of misery, he acts for misery."
