Musnad Ahmad 27:801

Waki' narrated to us, Ibn Abi Rawwad and Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Umar bin Muhammad, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, from the Prophet (ﷺ): "He used to place the stone of his ring on the side that faces the palm of his hand."
