Musnad 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA)

Hadith 27:878

Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Abd al-Malik narrated to us, from Muslim ibn Yanaq, who said: I was sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar in the gathering of the sons of Abdullah, when a youth from the Quraysh passed by, letting his lower garment hang low. Abdullah ibn Umar called him and said: "From whom are you?" He said: "From the tribe of Bakr." He said: "Do you wish for Allah the Exalted to look at you on the Day of Resurrection?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Raise your lower garment, for I heard Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) — and he gestured with his fingers toward his ears — saying: 'Whoever drags his lower garment, intending nothing but pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'"
