'Attab narrated to us, 'Abdullah—meaning Ibn al-Mubarak—narrated to us, Musa ibn 'Uqbah informed us, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Bakr said: "One side of my garment slips down, unless I am diligent about it." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You are not among those who do that out of pride." Musa said: I said to Salim: "Did 'Abdullah mention 'whoever drags his lower garment (izar)'?" He said: "I did not hear him mention anything except his garment (thawb)."
