Musnad 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA)

Hadith 27:941

Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu Tu'mah narrated to us—Ibn Lahi'ah said: I do not know what his name is—he said: I heard Abdullah ibn Umar saying: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, went out to the Mirbad (a place for drying dates), and I went out with him. I was on his right side. Then Abu Bakr approached, so I stepped back for him, and he was on his right side, and I was on his left side. Then Umar approached, so I moved aside for him, and he was on his left side. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, came to the Mirbad, and there were skins in the Mirbad containing wine. Ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, called for a knife for me—and I did not know what a knife was until that day—so he ordered the skins to be slit. Then he said: "Wine has been cursed, and its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its carrier, the one for whom it is carried, its presser, the one who asks for it to be pressed, and the one who consumes its price."

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
